Real Mia Grace Bride: Wedding of Han and Mitchell

Han and Mitchell started the New Year off with the best day of their lives! We are absolutely in love with all the fantastic pictures we received from their special day. We are so glad that we could help this amazing couple and we are so happy we get the opportunity to share their love story with all of our followers!

"I had gone to 3 other bridal shops before I found Mia Grace via a wedding show. I was in love with all the romantic styles that Mia Grace offered. Our consultant was patient and super nice. She let me go a bit over time and tried on 14 different dresses. I ended up going with the 2nd one that I tried on. It happened to be my size and I felt so special and beautiful. The lace details was so gorgeous and I love how it accentuates my curves. The dress arrived a whole month early and it was perfect." - Han

It’s Funny How Life Works

Han and Mitch were born on different sides of the world, but somehow they were brought together in August of 2011 while they were attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. They lived in 2 separate dorms that were about 10-12 minutes away from one another. All of Han’s friends lived in the same dorm as Mitch and they had a sand volleyball court. Han and Mitch first met when they played volleyball together with some mutual friends! As they got to know each other better, Mitch would walk Han home so she didn’t have to walk home alone when it was late! They talked a lot about themselves during their short walks. One night before dropping her off at the door of her dorm, Mitch gave her a kiss goodnight and the rest was history. 5 years, 1 fish (Biscuit), 2 cats (Polly and Zoey), all the same undergraduate classes, many dates, vacations, hikes, joy and laughter together, they were engaged on October 25th, 2016!

The Proposal

Han and Mitch share many common interests, including their love for hiking and nature. On October 24th, 2016 Han visited Mitch in Carbondale, IL while he was a first-year student at Southern Illinois University Medical School. He suggested that they should go hiking the next day at Garden of the Gods. They left early in the morning and spent an amazing day hiking and climbing. The park was beautiful with bluffs that provided magnificent views of the forest below and beyond. Mitch kept trying to convince her to follow him up to a “cool rock” because Han always wanders around on their hikes and after while she finally did! They climbed up the rock and the view was beautiful. She asked Mitch to take a picture of her doing the “tree yoga” pose, and he said, “well I want to do a different pose” as he got down on one knee! Mitch asked Han to be his wife and she said “Yes!” He had arranged two of his friends to follow them to take pictures of the proposal. He had the whole thing planned out for days! She was overwhelmed with all the love and congrats from their friends and family! They cannot wait for their new beginning with many more adventures ahead!

A Dream Come True

On December 31st, Han and Mitchell celebrated their union at the St. Louis Marriott Grand – Statler Ballroom surrounded by their loving friends and family! This lovely couple had an elegant New Year’s Eve wedding so they went with a glam theme! Their colors were gold, blush, and burgundy. Han looked breathtaking in her fit and flare wedding dress from the Allure Bridal Collection! This stunning design features a scalloped sweetheart neckline and a phenomenal scalloped hemline. The entire bodice is covered in delicate lace appliques, which also cascade beautifully down the skirt! Their wonderful wedding was created through the hard work from the following vendors:
