Real Mia Grace Bride: Wedding of Elizabeth and Shaun

Not only are we in love with all the photos we received from Elizabeth and Shaun’s very special day, but we just can’t stop obsessing over their precious love story! We are so thrilled to have been a part of their amazing journey together and we are so excited to share these special memories with our Mia Grace Bridal family!

“It had such a wonderful time at Mia Grace Bridal! I can't say enough good things about my experience here! Mia Grace had the best selection of any of the bridal shops I went to, and all of my favorites were well within my budget. My appointment was with Madison and she was the absolute best at picking out options for me and coaching me through the choices.” - Elizabeth

Their Love Story

Elizabeth met Shaun her freshman year of college at the University of Missouri! Although she can’t remember the exact moment, Shaun can remember it perfectly and he loves to tease her about it constantly! They had mutual friends and they saw each other around all the time. Elizabeth and Shaun were also in the Wind Ensemble together. She played the clarinet and he was in the percussion section. Near the end of the year, they bonded over their mutual love of House of Cards and they watched about 6 episodes in a row together! A few weeks later, they traveled to Italy with the Wind Ensemble. They spent 10 days touring the country, going to the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Pompeii, Lake Como, and more! Elizabeth was still pretty shy around Shaun, but they hung out on the trip. One night in Rome, he came to Elizabeth’s hotel room and asked if he could talk to her. She said yes, and he suggested they go up to a little balcony on the roof! From there, they could see beautiful buildings and trees that lit up the night sky! They talked about everything and everything until it started to sprinkle. It was then when they share their first kiss – on the roof in Rome, in the rain (which she joked was just like the Lizzie McGuire movie). A few weeks after they returned to the states, Elizabeth and Shaun officially started dating and the rest is history!

The Proposal

Following her college graduation, Elizabeth accepted a job offer in St. Louis. Her and Shaun planned to move there together over the summer. Shaun popped the question on the day they moved into their new apartment, which also happened to be their 3-year anniversary! After they finished bringing in all of the boxes and furniture, Shaun told her that he was going to put some of the empty boxes in the car. She didn’t think anything of it and kept organizing a shelf. When he came back up, he wrapped his arms around her and said, “You forgot a box in the car.” When Elizabeth turned to him, he slipped a tiny velvet box in her hand and got down on one knee! Shaun asked Elizabeth to spend her life with him in the place where they were starting the next chapter of their lives together! It was so simple and yet so meaningful to the both of them. After the proposal, they went to Forest Park and one of their favorite restaurants. It was the perfect first day in St. Louis!

A Dream Come True

On July 15th, Elizabeth and Shaun celebrated their union at the Stone Crest Venue in McKinney, Texas! Throughout the entire planning process, this newlywed couple joked about how they could never pick just one word to describe their style! They decided on “Italian-inspired, natural, relaxed, fun, backyard wedding.” Basically, they wanted to make their wedding as personal and special as possible. The décor included lots of flowers and wood accent to match the vibe of the venue. Elizabeth tried to add as many personalized details all thought out the wedding and some of her personal favorites were the ceremony programs, the loved ones table, the sweets table, and the firefighter koozies! Elizabeth looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress from Allure Bridals! This stunning fit and flare design features beautiful lace cap sleeves and intricate lace appliques covering the entire gown. The scalloped sweetheart neckline and the scalloped hemline are perfectly paired with the striking detailed lace around the keyhole back! Their wonderful wedding was created through the hard work from the following vendors:

Thank you so much Elizabeth and Shaun for allowing all of us at Mia Grace Bridal help make your wedding day a dream come true!
