“My Mia Grace bridal experience could not have gone better. It was just me, my mother, and my mother-in-law and we had set aside an entire day to shop for my dress. Mia Grace was the last stop on our list as it was the furthest location from home, but it was by far my favorite. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and they truly made my experience memorable. I had actually tried on the dress I chose at a previous bridal store and loved it, but I could not envision the minor change I wanted to make without feeling like the dress would not look the same. Once I put my dress on at Mia Grace, they helped explain to me what options I had for making the dress more catered to my style and did everything they could to physically show me so that I could fully picture what it would look like once it was finished. I fell in love with the dress and knew at that moment it was the one and Mia Grace was the place.” – Jaden

Their Love Story

Drew and Jaden grew up in small towns about 15 minutes apart and went to rival high schools. She had always known of him and his sisters because they come from athletic families and she had watched him play in school, but she never was brave enough to talk to him. She was home for the summer from her first year of coaching college volleyball and pursuing her master’s degree and Drew had just finished college and moved home for the summer before heading to boot camp. Her birthday was coming up and she thought she might as well get brave and invite him to her birthday party her friends had organized. She messaged him and they exchanged numbers and he showed up! Their first official date was shortly after that night and his parents and grandparents crashed it! (It was their favorite restaurant a few towns away which they hadn’t been to in a while, and in their defense, they had no clue it was their first date!) From that day on, sheI knew he was the one.

The Proposal

Jaden and Drew’s story is pretty unique as he is currently serving in the United States Coast Guard. He had asked her to move with him to his first duty station in Galveston, TX once he completed boot camp and even though she knew it would be a big step and hard to do because they weren’t married, she happily said yes in hopes that one day he would be her forever. The first few months in Texas were amazing and they were able to live together despite some of the rules and regulations of the military, however, if he were to be transferred or deployed, she would be on her own in more than one way. They talked about marriage frequently and knew that they would end up together, so he asked her dad’s permission and without telling anyone, a few weeks later they went to the courthouse and made it official. No engagement, no rings, nothing but her, him, and the judge, Jim. It was truly one of the best days and they were both so happy that it was official, but Drew being the thoughtful man he is, knew she had always dreamed of my wedding day and wanted to celebrate with her family and friends. So about a month later his parents and grandparents came to Texas to visit and they planned a dinner on the beach for the last night. As they were walking out the door, Drew blindfolded her and told her he had a surprise for me before dinner but she wasn’t allowed to see where they were going. She 100% thought he bought them a puppy because he had been hinting at it for a while, but little did she know his parents and grandparents had set up balloons to say “Marry me?” and covered a gazebo on the water with rose petals instead of meeting them for dinner. When she took the blindfold off, Drew was down on one knee with a ring in his hand and she happily said yes…for the second time of course. 😊

A Dream Come True

On July 14th, Jaden and Drew celebrated their 2nd wedding with a gorgeous modern wedding with a bohemian twist at Arcadia Academy. Surrounded by their loving friends and family, Jaden floated down the aisle in the beautiful Veda dress by Maggie Sottero. The bodice on this stunning fit-and-flare dress is adorned with beaded lace motifs and Swarovski crystals. The Veda features an illusion back, halter neckline with illusion plunging V in this wedding dress, and a tiered tulle and Marquice Organza skirt with horsehair edging completes. She completed her bridal look with a horsehair waltz length veil by Belaire Bridal! Their wonderful wedding was created through the hard work from the following vendors:
