We are so excited to share the amazing photos we received from Shelby and Shayne’s very special day! This wonderful couple met online and discovered that they truly make each other better, the way true love does. We are giddy over their sweet love story and we are so glad we could be a small part of it!
“I had such a wonderful experience at Mia Grace Bridal! I walked into my appointment unsure of what to expect, and Tammy did all the heavy lifting! She helped alleviate my stress about finding "the dress," and I was able to enjoy my day. From the moment I walked in, Tammy listened to what I asked for, and she helped me narrow down the selection. In all honesty, I fell in love with the very first gown I tried on, and Tammy still gave me her undivided attention and patience throughout the entirety of my appointment. I was treated like a bride rather than just a sale. I actually made a second bridal appointment at a different bridal store, and I left. The customer service and kindness drew me back - I called Tammy to ask if I could come back to get my measurements later in the day, and they fit me in without question. Vicki, the owner, was also excellent to work with. I had all my girls purchase their bridesmaid dresses from Mia Grace, too. Exceptional service! Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Mia Grace Bridal!!! 💕” – Shelby
An Online Connection Leads to True Love
Shayne and I first connected on the app Bumble. I was very skeptical about online dating, and didn't think our relationship would go much further than a first date or two. After texting for a while, we decided to finally meet in person at Syberg's on Dorsett. Shayne ordered various apps to share, and we had a few beers. It was nice, but I wasn't sure he was into me - he was so quiet, and he ate most of the food (hehehe)! Obviously, he was into me...
We cannot pinpoint every single impactful moment in our relationship - every day together is impactful. Recently, I cried over a broken nail (I had just paid to have my nails done), and he embraced my crazy crying self and placed a Bandaid on my fingertip so I wouldn't look at my fingernail. That is the type of relationship we have. We truly make each other better, and we accept and love one another unconditionally.
The Proposal
Shayne and I had been been dating for a little over a year, and we decided to have professional pictures taken in the park as a gift to our parents for Christmas. I reached out to a good friend of mine, and we met her in Tower Grove Park on a typical Thursday evening. I was in the heart of my pharmacy residency training with my stress levels at an ultimate high, and we were taking a quick break to capture a few shots of the fall sunset. Little did I know, Shayne had the ultimate surprise planned. Shayne was nervous during the entire photo shoot which I anticipated because he is shy, especially in front of the camera. However, his degree of anxiety was something I will never forget... I remember very clearly taking pictures under this beautiful tree with glowing orange leaves. Shayne muttered something about taking more pictures under the tree (he was planning to propose at that moment), but I was bossy and said we had enough and needed to move to the next location before the sun fully set. We approached the most beautiful bridge in the park - it is one of two. I stayed in the car for an outfit change. Once changed, I walked to the bridge, and the photographer was adjusting her settings in preparation for the last couple of shots. Shayne seemed even more nervous, and turned to me, asking if I loved him. I remember he asked if I would always love him to which I replied, "Of course." The rest is honestly a blur. He got down on one knee and I was crying tears of excitement (along with Shayne). I know he asked me to marry him, but I cannot remember exactly what he said. And now we are here!
A Dream Come True
On October 26th, Shelby and Shayne tied the knot at Graham Memorial Chapel at Washington University followed by a gorgeous reception at the historic Palladium Saint Louis! Their wedding was a classic, traditional wedding with a beautiful color pallette that was soft, yet bold. Shelby was stunning in her ivory and rum pink Raquel gown by Martin Thornburg. It was perfect amount of princess style in that it glittered when she moved. She finished off her bridal look with an elegant fingertip length veil from Berger. The gentleman were dressed in charcoal gray, and bridesmaids wore emerald green dresses from Morilee by Madeline Gardner. Her bridal bouquet reminded her of a garden. They both like simplicity, so decor for the wedding was minimalist, but pretty. Tables were decorated with photos of them both growing up and then growing together in their relationship.
Their wonderful wedding was created through the hard work from the following vendors:
Florist: Belli Fiori
Caterer: Butler's Pantry
Photographer: Ray Prop Photography
Videographer: Gaadt Productions
DJ: High Class DJs
Hairstylist/Makeup Artist: Studio Branca Salon Spas - Kaeli Davis (bridal hair and makeup)
