Real Mia Grace Bride: Wedding of Isabelle and Luke

Another gorgeous wedding for one of our Mia Grace brides! Isabelle and Luke's wedding was absolutely breathtaking. Although their plans changed due to the pandemic, they were still able to celebrate their love for one another with a beautiful ceremony. We are ecstatic to share their photos and love story with you!

"I loved working with Mia Grace throughout my entire wedding process! The first time i came to try on dresses with my family and bridesmaids, I had such a fun day and felt comfortable sharing which styles I liked and did not like. They did a great job taking my likes/dislikes and coming back with more dresses that fit my style. As an indecisive person, I returned three times to try dresses on and the staff made me feel comfortable and reassured each time. As I returned to get a veil, bridesmaid dresses, and pick my items up, it reached the point that I was excited to see Madison and the employees every time I came in like they were old friends!" -Isabelle

Their Love Story

Isabelle and Luke met as summer camp counselors at Camp Lakewood at YMCA of the Ozarks in Potosi, MO in 2014. After a summer of canoeing, lifeguarding, playing games with kids and living in camp cabins, they each went back to their respective colleges and continued a long-distance relationship for the next three years. After they both moved back to St. Louis, they got engaged and were married on their six-year dating anniversary!

She Said Yes!

Luke took Isabelle to Castlewood State Park for what he described as a morning of hiking and playing catch (two of their favorite hobbies!). As they played catch, Luke managed to switch out the standard baseball for a baseball that he had cut open and put the ring box inside. When Isabelle caught it and noticed what was inside, Luke got down on one knee and proposed. After Isabelle said yes, their family and friends came running out from nearby to celebrate!

Wedding

Isabelle and Luke got married on May 30, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. After being engaged for two years, the last few months before their wedding became a time of challenge and uncertainty. Isabelle had always dreamed of a large wedding and had developed a ceremony vision with a lot of dancing, beautiful flowers, delicious barbecue and Baked Bear ice cream sandwiches for dessert! As the pandemic went on and they struggled with what to do, they decided to move forward with their wedding mass on May 30, 2020, and postpone their reception to a later time. They ended up having a backyard rehearsal dinner and moved their original rehearsal dinner to a "wedding dinner," followed by a small reception in a friend's backyard. They would now recommend this option to other couples struggling with what to do during the pandemic. This plan allowed them to still get married and move into the next phase of their life and they were better able to focus on the details of the ceremony itself, which they felt was the most important part of the whole event! It also resulted in time to slow down and the ability to have a fun and relaxed day. They now look forward to their "one year anniversary party" at NEO on Locust next summer!
