Love Story:
Jack and Amanda met and began dating in August of 2017. Jack had moved to St. Louis in 2016 after finishing his graduate studies in plant pathology at North Carolina State University. Jack is originally from Pennsylvania, and Amanda, from Illinois. Amanda had completed two degrees in IL and had been living and working as a therapist in St. Louis since 2009. Time with Jack (and his dog, Lando) was a welcome distraction for Amanda, while she finished her doctoral degree at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. When Jack was not busy at work, collecting wheat samples in field plots across the country, you could find he and Amanda hiking, swaying at a concert, binging movies, or trying out a new restaurant. They stumbled upon a now favorite, Mama's on The Hill, one December night before going to the Christmas lights at the MO Botanical Garden. Traveling together on a Caribbean cruise and on road trip across North Carolina have been highlights leading them to see many more trips in their future. Amanda moved into Jack's townhouse before they eventually bought their first house together, a 100+ year old Richmond Heights home.
She Said YES!: In January of 2020, at Mama's on The Hill, Jack proposed to Amanda. They had planned a wedding for December 2020 but due to COVID-19, rescheduled a smaller event for October 24, 2020.

Amanda and Jack’s wedding was a bohemian and vintage theme. Amanda’s dress, Bali by Willowby, perfectly fit the vision she had for the day!
