Real Mia Grace Bride: Wedding of Carrie and Joe

Congratulations to Carrie and Joe on their happily ever after! These two rang in the New Year as Mr. and Mrs. with the perfect NYE wedding. We are ecstatic to share their love story and photos with you!

“Mia Grace is where I always knew I would find my wedding dress, I just needed the wedding. After being a bridesmaid 12 times, I knew just where I wanted to go when finally getting asked to be THE bride. Bring a plus sized bride I was nervous about trying on, but the girls at Mia Grace made me nothing but comfortable. They got me dresses that I wanted and made them visible on me to make decisions. After almost 30 dresses of trying on I FINALLY had found the one. I knew it immediately. They say you will cry, and I did just that. So did my family and so did the girls at Mia Grace. I felt the love and compassion for what they do. They truly know their industry and know how to make you feel comfortable. I also got my hairpiece there that I was so very happy with as well as all bridesmaid dresses. Even during crazy Pandemic times, Mia Grace was able to help and serve us best to meet our needs, while staying safe. They also referred me to my seamstress, Regina. To this day, I still text with her and send her pictures of my dress as well. She is truly talented and gifted and making exactly what you want and how you want it done. I appreciate all they have done for me and will recommend them any time.” - Carrie

Love Story

Carrie and Joe met playing sand volleyball at Bar 101 in Soulard. They immediately hit it off and found out they had many mutual friends. Two days after meeting, they realized they had the same 30th birthday party to attend. Shortly later, they also found out they had the same birthday, to the date five years apart.

Carrie and Joe have many of the same interests and hobbies. They love and value their family and friends. After about four years of being together the couple bought their dream house in South County and a month later Joe proposed!

The couple immediately chose their venue and date of NYE. A few months later, COVID hit and changed everything. They ended up extending the wedding and pushing it out one year and staying with NYE, just 2021. With many mixed emotions, tears and prayers that went in they knew they made the right decision. Carrie and Joe just wanted everyone there and ready to party! Every vendor was AMAZING to work with. When it was finally time for their wedding, they had the most amazing and beautiful day. They are so happy for the people that were able to share and capture the day with them.

Proposal

Joe proposed on December 1, 2019 at The Holiday Lights Anheuser Busch in Soulard. With Carrie’s parents' blessing, he surprised Carrie with her great-grandma’s engagement ring. That wasn’t the only surprise. Joe surprised Carrie with their families and many close friends being there to share their special moment. It was a very special night they will never forget!

Wedding

Growing up on a dairy farm, Carrie felt it necessary to go with a “farmhouse” wedding theme. The decorations were mostly borrowed and pieced together, and Carrie loved every bit of it. Using old lace and doilies to spruce things up made it more fun and interesting.
