After bonding over a mutual love for jazz and dating for five years, Kelly and Devin said “I Do” in a gorgeous ceremony at the Botanical Gardens this past September. The pictures speak for themselves!
“I went to Mia Grace Bridal with my mother and grandmother, thinking I knew exactly what kind of dress I wanted. My stylist encouraged me to try on a couple different styles and sure enough, the last dress I tried on ended up being an absolute dream! The embroidered flowers fit in perfectly for the ceremony at the Botanical Gardens and the ballroom shape was ideal for our reception at the Mahler Ballroom. I was also thrilled to get the exact color bridesmaids dresses that I was envisioning through Mia Grace Bridal. They were wonderful and accommodating at every visit!” - Kelly
Love Story
Kelly and Devin met at a jazz gala through Jazz St. Louis, a local non-profit organization. Devin was working for the organization at the time and Kelly was volunteering for the event. They bonded over a mutual love of jazz!
Proposal
Devin proposed to Kelly the night before their five-year dating anniversary. Kelly thought he would pop the question the next day, but she had no idea it would be the night before! Kelly got home from work and smelled her favorite dish cooking and found Devin down on one knee in their dining room, surrounded by candles and flowers and a beautiful speech. Kelly said YES!
Wedding
Kelly and Devin tied the knot September 4th, 2020. Their wedding was full of joy and a ton of fun!
Kelly and Devin’s wedding day was perfect. They were hoping for beautiful weather for their outdoor ceremony at the Botanical Gardens, and St. Louis weather did them a favor and gave them a truly beautiful day.
Kelly said, “I think one of the parts I was most looking forward to was my and Devin’s first dance in the beautiful Mahler Ballroom. Devin is a great dancer and our song "You Send Me" by Sam Cooke was perfect for the day.”
Getting married during a pandemic and having to go on with their day without so many friends and family was tough. However, the moment Kelly walked down the aisle she had zero doubt/worries in her mind that Devin was (and still is!) her person, and he felt the same. Despite all the changes to their original wedding plan, it was the absolute perfect day!
