Love Story:
Lauren and Jacob’s story began like many other modern love stories... on Bumble! After a few weeks of texting, they finally met at Molly’s in Soulard. Some of those there that night included bridesmaids, groomsmen and even their officiant! Lauren quickly grew into a dog mom of Rozay & they added their second fur child Duke after a year and a half.
Lauren and Jacob share a love of spending time with family and friends and watching sports or drinking wine… which is where the proposal begins.
She Said Yes!: Jacob asked Lauren's parents to marry her over Christmas 2018. A few days later, on a ski lift in Park City, Utah, Todd (Lauren's future bother-in-law) and Jacob tell each other they both plan on proposing two weeks apart! Allison (Lauren’s sister) and Todd got engaged in Paris, and Lauren sobbed happy tears, while Allison already knew Lauren was about to get engaged too! Meanwhile, Lauren was fully convinced Jacob wasn’t proposing anytime soon.
Jacob and Lauren planned a long weekend in Napa Valley. On the first day in Napa, Jacob booked a tour of the winery Casello Di Amorosa, where they toured the castle and then ended with a wine tasting. It was a rainy, chilly day and Lauren wore a dress, so she was ready to head somewhere else to warm up after the tasting. After the 5th time circling the gift shop, a woman (claiming to be with the winery) offered to take a complimentary photo, which of course they said yes to! While taking pictures, she asked Lauren to turn to the side and get in a “Prom Pose” with Jacob. After a few seconds of waiting for Jacob to get into position, she told Lauren to turn around. Jacob was down on one knee, taking Lauren’s breath away as he asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. It took Lauren almost a minute to find her voice to say YESSSSSS!
Wedding:
Lauren and Jacob’s wedding was simple, modern, and rustic. Their details included simple flowers & centerpieces to showcase the beautiful St. Louis building with brick walls & old wood floors.
