We are so excited to share the photos we received from Celene and Matthew’s gorgeous wedding! This amazing couple's love story starts back when they met when they were both just teenagers and have been together ever since. Their love has traveled across the world and brought them closer together than ever.

My Aunt April who had cancer at the time and was only given just weeks to live wanted to see me in my wedding dress before her time would come. My dress was estimated to be done soon. I contacted Mia Grace and they rushed my dress.The owner, Vicki, even came in after closing time so I was able to get my dress since I live 2 hours away from the shop and had to work that day. I was able to put on my dress for my aunt and she passed away just about a week later. This moment meant the world to my family and I." - Celene
Their Love Story
Matt and Celene met when I just 16 and he was 18. He was her first boyfriend and first love. They are both from small towns in Central Illinois and met through a mutual friend. Six months into dating, Matt joined the Marine Corps and left for boot camp in California. Then about a year after that he left for his duty station in Okinawa, Japan where he would be for the next 2 years. During those 2 years they only saw each other on 3 different occasions. They always stayed optimistic and looked forward to the next time they would reunite. At the beginning, those 2 years felt like an eternity. Now looking back they realize even though they were separated by over 7,000 miles, it grew them together even more. Now they are finally married and living together in Jacksonville, NC where he will be stationed until his time in the Marine Corps is up. He is her best friend and life wouldn't be the same without him by her side.
The Proposal
While Matt was home on leave after being in Japan for 11 months, he proposed! He prepared and set up a romantic dinner. He wore his uniform (which she can't get enough of). He popped the question after dinner. Her ring is so special to me. They have a family member who is a jeweler and Matt helped design her ring. Her mom and dad gave their original wedding bands and they were melted down to create her ring. So now she will always have apart of my mom and dad with her. Besides her wedding day, it was the greatest day of her life.
What A Wonderful Wedding
On May 18th, Celene and Matthew celebrated their very special day at Vrooman Mansion surrounded by their loving friends and family! Celene looked absolutely breathtaking in her bridal gown from Allure Bridals! This statement making lace bridal gown features gorgeous sheer scalloped lace back detailing, sweetheart neckline, and satin covered button detailing finish the look. Their wonderful wedding was created through the hard work from the following vendors:
